About The Duke William
The Duke William is a family run country pub, located in the village of Ainsworth, serving traditional home-cooked food, from local suppliers. We’ve got cask ales, a real fire and a warm welcome, so bring the whole family and even the dog!
Our pub was built as a coaching in on the main Liverpool to Leeds coaching route in 1737. It retains much of it’s charm with low ceilings, small rooms and friendly atmosphere. In the 1800s it was used as the location of the local coroner’s court.
We pride ourselves on providing seasonal food cooked fresh to order. Our ‘charming old traditional pub’ won the Bolton News ‘Pub of the Year 2021', beating various other pubs in the region.
